TITLE           What are Marked Species?

DESCRIPTION     All species have a flag which can be set to FALSE or TRUE.
All species with the flag set to TRUE are called marked
species. Normally this flag is used to specify a subgroup of
species for editors, tree building programs ...

EXAMPLES        Mark queried species:

                        1. Select 'Search' from the ARB main window
                        2. Perform a search
                        3. Use 'Mark Listed Unmark Rest' to mark all queried species

                Mark selected species:

                        1. Select a species (in tree, editor, search result etc.; see LINK{selected.hlp})
                        2. Open the LINK{sp_info.hlp}
                        3. Check the 'Marked?' toggle.

Mark all species in selected tree or subtree:

                     - via menu:

                        1. Unmark all species: <ARB/Species/Mark species/Unmark all Specie>
                        2. <ARB/Species/Mark species/Species in Tree/Mark species in Tree>

                     - using the mouse in tree display:

                        1. Select the <MARK MODE>
                        2. Press the left mouse button
                           - somewhere outside the tree to mark the whole tree, or
                           - at a subtree to mark only the subtree.

                     - using the keyboard in tree display:

Use any of the keyboard shortcuts defined for the
                        tree display (see LINK{nt_keys.hlp}).

                Save/Restore sets of marked species:
