11 | TITLE TAGS: Subfields |
---|
12 | |
---|
13 | OCCURRENCE ARB_NT: Merge Tools / Modify Database Fields |
---|
14 | |
---|
15 | DESCRIPTION Tags are used to subdivide fields into subfields, which |
---|
16 | often have the same value. E.g. After merging the 16s databases |
---|
17 | from RDP and DeWachter all species have two full_names: |
---|
18 | The RDP and DeWachter version which should be equal but which |
---|
19 | are often not. So we 'TAG' the dewachter database using the |
---|
20 | tag 'DEW' and the RDP with the tag 'RDP'. Say one species has |
---|
21 | the full_names escherichia_RDP and escherichia_DEW. |
---|
22 | Using the tags mechanism the final field will look like this: |
---|
23 | ' [DEW] escherichia_DEW [RDP] escherichia_RDP'. |
---|
24 | Tags are sourrounded by brackets and put in front of the |
---|
25 | corresponding field value. If both subfields have the same |
---|
26 | value, (like escherichia_coli) fields are merged: |
---|
27 | ' [DEW,RDP] escherichia_coli' |
---|
28 | |
---|
29 | NOTES The Modify Database Fields tools allows to modify only single |
---|
30 | subfields. |
---|
31 | If there are no tags used yet, the default tag is taken. |
---|
32 | |
---|
33 | |
---|
34 | EXAMPLES None |
---|
35 | |
---|
36 | BUGS Square Brackets in the fields are replaces by '{}' |
