- merge most WINDOW patches from 'color' into 'trunk'
- color-ranges (completes implementation of #682)
- new types (cyclic, planar and spatial)
- can display as canvas-overlay
- setup in separate window
- allow external access via ID (query, activate)
- adds: log:branches/color@14984,14986:14987,14989,14993,15000,15005:15006,15008,15011,15036
