#253 new enhancement

inconsistent distance matrix export formats in ARB

Reported by: guest Owned by: devel
Priority: major Milestone: arb7.x
Component: ARB_DIST Version: arb-6.x
Keywords: distance matrix, export, decimal Cc: kbseah@…, trichter@…

Description

Export of distance matrix in ARB can be in Phylip, TSV, or "readable" formats. However, distance values in Phylip format use "." as decimal point, and in TSV format use "," as decimal point. Also, TSV export gives values as percentage, whereas Phylip export gives it as a decimal fraction.

Could they be made consistent? I.e. all numbers as decimal fractions, with "." as decimal marker, and to same degree of rounding?

Thank you!

requested by Tim in arb_users:

  1. Is it possible to change the default delimiter in the txt output from

"," to "."? I am running ARB 6 under ubuntu. It would make things much more convenient when processing the txt.files with R or excel.
