#380 closed defect (discarded)

"Sequence color mapping" in EDIT4 layout broken (on SuSE 12.2)

Reported by: westram Owned by: devel
Priority: trivial Milestone:
Component: Library (GUI) Version: gtkport
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Layout of this window is done completely by code (no xfig).

  • xsize of text-boxes is too small on SuSE 12.2 (using kde)
    • code requests a size of 2 characters, but created text box is not capable to display 2 characters
    • note that code also sets at-positions according to positions recorded while printing the table header (buttons w/o callback)

Works on u1004/gnome2 (motif + gtk version).

OMG. That window is so broken from a usability point of view… it is near incomprehensible. Assigning colors to characters should be separate from mapping character, at the very least.

Suggested fix: Repair the design of the thing.
